Cedar Hill Tx is a historic city located about 20 minutes south of Dallas, Tx on Texas hwy 67. Cedar Hill Tx might not be a huge city but there are still many awesome things to do there. Plus the town is only about 15-20 minutes away from Arlington TX where there are two stadiums, Six Flags Over Texas, and Hurricane Harbor. One such event is the Cedar Hill Creative Arts Festival that takes place in the historic downtown area on September 23, 2017 from 10am to 3pm. At the Arts Festival there is fun and enjoyment for the whole family. There is art to look at fun activities for the kids, local remarket vendors, live music, and food trucks. This is an exciting opportunity to sample some of the local culture of a historic town.
Some other great events that are held in Cedar Hill Tx are the downtown remarket held every fourth Saturday of the month from 10am to 3pm. This event is a community market that highlights local vendors and artisans. It also has a farmer’s market with fresh wholesome organic produce, arts, crafts, a flea market, and lots more.
If cycling is a big part of life then 2nd Saturday in May is the place to be. Cedar Hill, Tx has a bike rally. This is a charitable event that helps the Rotary Club of Cedar Hill collect money to fund all of their programs for the year.
If money is a little tight and the love for all types of music is high then Cedar Hill, Tx offers a free outdoor live music concert in June at the Valley Ridge amphitheater the first four fridays of June. The music begins at 8pm.
There is still more opportunities for great music in Cedar Hill beginning in July and going until about the middle of August. This is also a free concert but it is fro charity and attendees are encouraged to bring the requested items for donations. These live concerts begin at 7pm on The Village Green.
Not only does Cedar Hill Tx do great things for music they are also helping Operation Gratitude send care packages to the military via an obstacle course presented by Subaru the second Sunday of June. This event has obstacles courses for everyone and yes that means kids too. There is a race for children ages 4-13. There are two obstacles courses with 20 or more obstacles too. This event helps to raise over $200,000 for this organization.
